It's not necessarily bad, as it's allowed people like Mark to make a living doing things they love, but for those not fortunate enough to get in on the ground floor of Youtube's "golden years" when DMCA wasn't as much an issue as it is now, it seems like just another unforgiving media platform. That's the nature of all things when you remove the humanity and replace it with colder, corporate logic. Still, it became obvious back when corporations started getting their claws into Youtube and saw an opportunity to make more money that Youtube would inevitably change. But he's looking to his fans for some kind of feedback about it, and all the comments I'm reading are about how they "almost died" because they thought he was quitting or blindly agreeing with him when the context of their statement makes it clear they don't get what he's talking about. He's lamenting the decline of creativity on Youtube, which I partially agree with but would argue he may be looking in the wrong places right now. It looks like he's struggling to move beyond just LPs, if I understand the subtext enough. We could get into the psychology behind that thought on a larger scale, but I think that's outside the scope of the current convo. Everyone has their own idea of how a game should be played, but to them, only their way is the "right" way. I'm sure they think they do, because at 14 you know everything, right? But Jack even mentioned earlier how there's been a shift where viewers get outright angry if you don't play a game exactly the way they want you to, and I wonder if this vlog had anything to do with it. And he trusts them to know what they want, when they just don't. Even if they think they understand where he's coming from, sometimes they only get half the story and go charging off before he's finished talking. But M0nkee is right, he just puts too much faith in his fans. Can't say I blame him though, because it sounds like he had someone (or a few someones) specific in mind and didn't want to drag their names through the mud. I have rewatched his video playing dead with Lucy and Maggie a lot. But, I love that guy and the character he made, kelly. Thank you, I have "shoes" stuck in my head. I wonder if he plans to play another oculus rift game soon? :O I usually end up watching FNaF playthroughs over and over, Slenderman, Octodad, Surgeon Simulator. I also like of course, Wade and JacksepticeyeĪquarianHorse wrote:A lot of his videos are awesome I love the artsy creative ones too, the more relaxing ones with nice music I do love to go through his awesome games playlist or the horror game play list sometimes when I'm in the mood for either. I like Dodger too, same with Mathias and Amanda (his wife). I like DLive22891, IHasCUpquake(Or TiffyQuake), Laina, RadioDeadAir. First youtubber I was into I think was Brookers XD I also liked the (Forget the name) of the video where a guy dressed up as a blonde girl named Kelly, there's a video he did called "You Can't Text Message Break Up". I recently got into Rhett and Link (Good Mythical Morning). I wonder if he plans to play another oculus rift game soon? :OĪlso I'm a bit confused, didn't Mark start youtube in May of 2012 and not April?Īs for smaller youtubbers, are you looking for gaming? I used to watch people not play games as much before I discovered Mark I loved watching funny skits by MisterEpicMan (I think they have a different channel now too), I loved Mean Kitty videos, talking dog videos (of the husky dog), there was one of a doberman, pitbull and chihuahua I loved to watch, talking cat is pretty good. A lot of his videos are awesome I love the artsy creative ones too, the more relaxing ones with nice music I do love to go through his awesome games playlist or the horror game play list sometimes when I'm in the mood for either.
